Focusing on project-specific legal engagements for business or non-profit/tax-exempt matters
Shaun has over 35 years of experience as a business attorney. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America since 2004, in the areas of Corporate Law, Corporate Governance Law, and Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law. Shaun was named Central Pennsylvania Lawyer of the Year four times: Corporate Law in 2013 and 2020 and Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law in 2021 and 2023. He has also received the highest peer review rating of AV from Martindale-Hubbell since 2001.
Shaun focuses his practice on legal transactions (buy/sell, lend/borrow, merge/acquire), contracts, entity formation and governance, and tax-exempt/charitable organizations. He now limits his practice to specific legal projects (as opposed to general, ongoing representation), which makes him ideal for law firms seeking experienced, able, independent counsel for their clients with project-specific conflicts.
Shaun spent several years early in his career as a Philadelphia litigator, so he brings an understanding of the litigation process to his business and non-profit counseling practice. Shaun graduated from Cornell University and has a law degree from Dickinson Law School, where he was an editor of the law review, a masters in tax law from Villanova Law School, and an MBA in corporate finance from Wharton.
Shaun has served as the president of his church's lay council and of his school distric's education foundation. He has a black belt in Korean martial arts (Jung Sim Do) and a gold medal in international powerlifting. He is a terrible but avid golfer.
